Rollerset Day 7 update

Quick update:

So I'm now on day 7 of my first rollerset. I opted out a headband today and decided to pull the front section of my hair back and secure with bobby pins. Because of the way that I tie my hair at night with the headband the curls at the front of my head kept getting pulled back. Now they are more or less straightened out so pulling it back with the bobby pins was a cuter way of keeping everything in place.

6 month Rollerset Challenge

Hello lovies,

I know its been a while, but my job has me busier than ever. Happy New Year to you all!! I hope you experience the fullness of God's blessings this year, that you grow and learn from every challenge and that you discover something new about yourself.

One of the main things I want to work on this year is my hair journey. Since my last post on it I've changed hairdressers and my hair is slowly but surely recovering from the last setback. Its much healthier now and starting to grow again. YAY!!!

Now I found a new hair and beauty blogger on Youtube EbonyCPrincess1 at the end of last year. I went to her blog and saw that she was doing a rollerset challenge for 2012. I don't rollerset my hair often but its one of those things that I always want to do but I'm too afraid of doing. I love when my hair is curly, I think its so cute. So I decided to take the plunge and sign up for the challenge. I haven't taken my before pics yet, but I'll take them and post them when I wash next week.

I washed my hair on Wednesday night as usual (regimen below). For the rollerset I actually used three different types of rollers because I didn't have enough of 1 type. I used the smallest curlers I could find in my mom's stash, plus I used some small flexi rods and these strange curlers from Annie. I had the flexi rods at the back, the strange curlers in the middle and the small curlers at the front.

Review:

The best curls came from the flexi rod and the small curlers. Ive never done this before so now I know how to manipulate them and what to do. I didn't seal the ends properly which I now know how to correct that. Sealing is definitely important ladies. You didnt want frizz at the end of your curls. The Annie curlers are honestly tricky to use and even when you think you've gotten it right the curls just didn't come out right. For persons more experienced in using them they may get better results but for me, they just didn't work. The fuzziest part of my head right now is where those rods where used.

Overall I'm happy with how it came out. These pics are from today, the second day. I used Ebony's method of protecting them while sleeping which really worked.
